Foreign Born: Exclusive Video Performance At LiveDaily Sessions
Spawned from a collegiate friendship at San Francisco State University between singer Matt Popieluch and guitarist Lewis Pesacov, indie-rock outfit Foreign Born got it's start in 2003 as a duo before growing to include drummer Garrett Ray and bassist Ariel Rechtshaid. After a few months performing together, the group decided in the spring of 2004 to relocate to Los Angeles, where the quartet has remained since.
Foreign Born released their first EP, "Remote Woods," in 2005 on Star Time Records, followed by a limited-edition, self-released album, "Loud Times in the Valley," that the rockers made available only to their tour audiences.
After a navigating the nation alongside We Are Scientists, Cold War Kids and Giant Drag in 2006 (Foreign Born toured in a borrowed van powered by used vegetable oil), the occasionally dark, sometimes psychedelic rockers caught the eye of Dim Mak Records, signing in August 2007 and following their new deal up with their full-length debut, "On the Wing Now," which hit shelves the same month.
