Cursive

This year has been a busy one for Nebraska-based indie-rockers Cursive , who back in March dished their latest album, "Mama, I'm Swollen." Three days after the album's March 10 release, the band made its network-television performance debut on "The Late Show with David Letterman."

Cursive got its start back in 1995, when frontman Tim Kasher, bassist Matt Maginn and guitarist Steve Pedersen--all formerly of the band Slowdown Virginia--teamed with drummer Clint Schasne. After issuing a debut album titled "Such Blinding Stars for Starving Eyes" in 1997, the band members parted ways the following year, but reconvened in 1999, with Ted Stevens taking over for Pedersen, who had moved on to law school. A few additional personnel changes took place in the years that followed; these days, drummer Cully Symington rounds out the lineup with Kashner, Maginn and Stevens.

"Mama, I'm Swollen" marks the group's sixth studio set for the Saddle Creek record label.
