Madonna fans who weren't able to snag tickets for her previously announced concerts in New York City and Hartford, CT, will get another shot at it later this week.
The singer, who has already sold out four shows in the Big Apple, has added a fifth performance at Madison Square Garden on July 18, tickets for which will go on sale Friday (4/21). Tickets will also hit the box office that day for a newly added June 26 show in Hartford, which makes for a two-night stand in that city.
Madonna is gearing up for a world tour behind her latest album, last year's "Confessions on a Dance Floor." The run kicks off on the West Coast in late May, and is so far scheduled to run until late July. Details are included below.
Following her tour's North American leg, Madonna heads across the pond for a European trek, details about which are posted at the tour's official website. Tickets for the Euro leg sold out in 10 minutes, according to information posted at Madonna's website.
As previously reported, some of the tickets for Madonna's upcoming shows are being auctioned off as part of a fundraising effort for Music Rising, an organization that replaces instruments and equipment that Gulf Coast musicians lost due to last year's hurricanes. More information is available at the auction website.
Before launching her tour, Madonna will warm up with an April 30 set at this year's Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival.
Released last November, "Confessions on a Dance Floor" debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 and has sold more than 1.3 million copies in the US to date, according to Warner Bros. Records. Helping to drive sales is the album's hit single "Sorry."
