INXS uncorks new US tour dates

On the heels of the announcement of several Canadian dates, INXS has unveiled the initial US shows for the second leg of the group's "Switched On" North American tour.

The outing is currently set to kick off April 21 in Memphis, TN, and run through June 1. Pre-sale tickets will be available to INXS's fan club members, according the group's website.

The website reports more dates will be announced soon.

INXS, which had been mostly on hiatus since the death of founding lead singer Michael Hutchence in 1997, chose Nova Scotia native J.D. Fortune last year out of thousands of applicants on the TV reality show "Rockstar: INXS" to become Hutchence's replacement.
INXS released, "Switch," its first studio album since 1997--and first featuring Fortune on vocals--last December.

This week CBS announced the second round of "Rock Star" with the band Supernova--Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee, former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted and ex-Guns N’ Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke--seeking a singer.
