
The Red Hot Chili Peppers , Kanye West , Death Cab for Cutie , Jack White’s The Raconteurs, Matisyahu , Queens of the Stone Age and 110 other bands fill the line-up for this year’s Lollapalooza festival, set to take place Aug. 4-6 in Chicago’s Grant Park.
Also scheduled to perform are Manu Chao, Wilco, The Flaming Lips, Ween, The Shins, Common, Ryan Adams, Umphrey’s McGee, Blues Traveler, Broken Social Scene, The New Pornographers and Iron and Wine.

"We want the fans to discover and explore," said Perry Farrell, founder and creator. "That's what Lollapalooza is all about: sounds of all genres swirling about as you walk through the expanse of Grant Park."
An unannounced, specially priced ticket sale for e-list subscribers proved Lollapalooza's buzz quotient, as 3,000 $45 three-day passes sold out in 33 minutes. Three-day passes are now $130.
In addition to five stages of music, the event will "incorporate art, fashion, food, activities for kids, cultural elements and sensory surprises that the Lollapalooza experience is known for," according to a press release.
This year marks the second time that Lollapalooza, which first took place in 1991, will be staged in a single city rather than as a traveling tour. The 2004 edition of Lollapalooza was scrapped due to weak ticket sales.
