Columbia Records has announced plans to issue a new Bruce Springsteen album on April 25.
Titled "We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions," the disc--which marks the Boss' 21st album--features Springsteen's interpretations of 13 traditional songs, all of which are associated with folk artist Pete Seeger.
More information about the forthcoming set is posted at Springsteen's website.
Depeche Mode has recorded a new version of "Suffer Well"--a cut from the group's latest album, "Playing the Angel"--that features frontman David Gahan singing the lyrics in "Simlish," a language created by developers of the popular computer game "The Sims." The song is featured on the just-released "The Sims 2 Open for Business," which hit stores today (3/2), according to a press release.
"Depeche Mode has always been open to new ways of sharing our music, but re-recording a Simlish-language version of 'Suffer Well' just sounded completely bizarre," Gahan said in a statement. "Of course, that's why we couldn't resist doing it."
A video for the song will be available at Depeche Mode's website, as well as at the "Sims 2" website, according to Electronic Arts.
"Queen : The Making of 'A Night at the Opera,'" a DVD that documents the recording of the 1975 album, is due in stores March 21.
The disc will feature a cut-by-cut run-through of all 12 of the album's tracks; new interviews with guitarist Brian May, bassist John Deacon and producer Roy Thomas Baker; archival performance footage; interviews with late Queen frontman Freddie Mercury; and comments from musicians including Aerosmith's Joe Perry, Extreme's Nuno Bettencourt and Mott The Hoople's Ian Hunter, according to a press release.
The release will also include new acoustic performances of "'39" and "Love of My Life" by May, and a special drum and acoustic demonstration of "I'm in Love With My Car" by Taylor.
Staind has announced plans to perform three concerts at U.S. Army bases in Germany. The shows are scheduled to take place tomorrow (3/3) at U.S. Army Garrison, Mannheim; March 16 at the U.S. Army Garrison, Franconia; and March 17 at the U.S. Army Garrison, Baumholder.
The shows at Mannheim and Franconia are part of "Welcome Home" celebrations for troops returning from combat duty in the Persian Gulf Region, according to a press release.
