Lucinda Williams unveils new concert schedule

Singer/songwriter Lucinda Williams is beginning to line up her tour plans for early 2006, and has already filled in about 20 dates on her calendar.

The critically acclaimed country-folk artist is scheduled to launch the U.S. outing in mid February, and is currently scheduled to be on the road for more than a month. Williams shares the bill with country great George Jones on two California stops; details are in the itinerary below.

Williams' latest release is last year's "Live @ the Fillmore," a two-disc set containing 22 songs she recorded during an early 2004, three-night stand at the famous San Francisco venue. The DVD "Live from Austin, TX," which captures Williams' Dec. 5, 1998 performance for Austin City Limits, was also issued in 2005.

Williams' most recent studio set is 2003's "World Without Tears," which was produced by Mark Howard (Bob Dylan, U2). The album received a Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Folk Album, and its single "Righteously" was nominated for Best Female Rock Performance.

A new studio set is expected this year from Williams, but she's known for taking her time between projects.
