Two more shows on tap for Billy Joel

The steady trickle of Billy Joel dates continues unabated, with new stops added in the Ft. Lauderdale area and Hartford, CT.

The new, Jan. 15 show at the BankAtlantic Center in the Ft. Lauderdale area is his second at the venue, which will also be the site of the tour's Jan. 7 kick-off performance.

Meanwhile, Hartford, CT, will get two visits from the piano man during the month of March, the first of which is now set for March 10, followed by a previously announced March 28 engagement in the city.

Tickets for both of the new dates--as well as those for a previously announced stop in Syracuse, NY--are scheduled to hit the box office on Saturday (12/07). Details are included in the itinerary below.

Joel hasn't mounted a major solo outing since his 1998-99 tour; during that run, he played for 1.1 million fans over the course of 64 shows, and grossed $47 million, according to a press release.

Since then, his major concert appearances have mostly been co-headlining affairs with fellow singer/pianist Elton John.

Though Joel doesn't need a reason to tour, the upcoming run ostensibly supports his recently released box set "My Lives," a four-disc collection that clocks in at more than five hours, and chronicles his career "from his early '60s Long Island bar bands through his biggest hits to his most recent classical compositions," according to a press release. The set includes demos, live cuts, alternate takes, covers and more.
