Country singer Jo Dee Messina continues to add dates in support of her new CD, "Delicious Surprise."
The fiery redhead will next take stage Friday night (10/21) at the Mayo Civic Center Auditorium in Rochester, MN. She will spend the remainder of this month and the first part of November in the Midwest, before moving on to perform batches of dates in the Pacific Northwest, California and the Northeast. The tour is currently set to finish up on Dec. 14 in Lowell, MA.
A complete tour itinerary is listed below.
"Delicious Surprise" entered the Billboard album chart at No. 7, and spent eight weeks in the Top 100; it followed 2003's "Greatest Hits," which hit No. 1 on the country charts. The title track from "Delicious Surprise" represents Messina's 16th Country Top 40 single.
In other news, Messina was recently named as an ambassador for the Special Olympics. Her duties in that role will include acting as a spokesperson during the 2006 USA National Games, set for next July in Ames, Iowa.
"The athletes that compete in the Special Olympics do so for the love of the sport," said Messina in a press release. "They finish to finish. Special Olympics offers a chance to expand the quality of life for so many and to see the games is to witness the ultimate display of the human spirit in its purist form. I am honored and proud to be an Ambassador for this organization."
