Bruce Springsteen plans Red Cross benefit show

Bruce Springsteen is set play an Oct. 4 concert at Asbury Park, NJ's Paramount Theatre to benefit the Jersey Coast Chapter of the American Red Cross.

According to concert promoter Concerts East, tickets, priced at $100, go on sale Friday (9/30) at 9 a.m. ET, exclusively through Ticketmaster Charge by Phone. (Ticketmaster is liveDaily's parent company).

To curb scalping, tickets will not be mailed out. Those who purchase tickets can pick them up at the venue box office on the night of the show only. Two forms of ID will be required to pick up tickets, according to the Concerts East website.

The benefit show comes just ahead of Springsteen's third batch of 2005 solo-acoustic shows. He's touring solo for the first time since the 1995-96 "The Ghost of Tom Joad" tour to back his latest release, the acoustic-oriented "Devils & Dust," which debuted atop The Billboard 200 album chart earlier this year.
