The itinerary for Pearl Jam 's summer tour--including nearly all venues and ticket on-sale dates--has surfaced on Rumor Pit, the band's Sony Music-sanctioned online newsletter. The band's first full-scale tour since 1998 will visit more than 30 markets. Most shows will take place at amphitheaters.
Austin and Portland, two of the cities that were on the band's previously announced itinerary, don't turn up on the new list "due to circumstances beyond our control," according to Rumor Pit.
Sonic Youth will occupy the opening slot on the North American tour's first leg, which launches on Aug. 3 in Virginia Beach and runs through Sept. 5. Supergrass will open the tour's month-long second leg, which opens on Oct. 4 in Montreal.
Before it departs for its European tour later this month, the band has scheduled two warm-up shows: a May 10 appearance at the Mt. Baker Theater in Bellingham, Wash.--tickets go on sale at the venue box office today (4/28) at 4 p.m., according to the Rumor Pit--and May 11 at Vancouver's Commodore Ballroom. Tickets to the Vancouver show is for winners of a contest running on local radio station CFOX-FM.
Pearl Jam is scheduled to release a new album titled ''Binaural'' on May 16.
