Reunited metalheads Anthrax plan to fill some off-days during their upcoming tour with Judas Priest by playing some headlining gigs of their own.
The group will knock out a pair of headlining dates in the Midwest later this month before linking up with Priest starting Sept. 25 in Cincinnati, and has also lined up a handful of October headlining stops. Details are included in the itinerary below.
Earlier this year, Anthrax members Joey Belladonna (vocals), Frankie Bello (guitar), Charlie Benante (drums), Scott Ian (bass) and Danny Spitz (guitar) reunited for their first performances together since 1992. The quintet's first meeting in over 10 years is captured on a forthcoming DVD titled "Alive 2," which will also feature rehearsals and behind-the-scenes footage, as well as performances of 13 songs recorded during the band's June 3 performance at New Jersey's Starland Ballroom.
The DVD is scheduled for release on Sept. 20, as is an "Alive 2" audio-CD.
Also on Sept. 20, the group will offer up "Anthrology: No Hit Wonders (1985-1991)," a two-CD collection of remastered, previously released material; and "Anthrology: No Hit Wonders (1985-1991) The Videos," a DVD that will house live footage as well as nine of the group's music videos, including "Bring Tha Noize" featuring Public Enemy.
