Less Than Jake prepares for studio time with brief tour

Punk-pop outfit Less Than Jake will fine-tune the material for its next studio album during a weeklong tour through the West.

The band, which launches the mini-tour in late September, has lined up stops in Seattle; Portland, OR; San Francisco; Los Angeles; San Diego; and Las Vegas. The itinerary is included below.

Fans are likely to hear a mix of old favorites and songs expected to turn up on a new album due out sometime next year. The group plans to record the set this year with producer Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, Hoobastank), who last worked with the group on 1998's "Hello Rockview."

The new album--for which no release date has been announced--follows Less Than Jake's most recent studio collection, 2003's "Anthem," as well as last year's "B is for B-Sides," a mix of European B-sides and previously unreleased tracks.
