
Country act Rascal Flatts ' Sept. 24 concert at Nashville's Gaylord Entertainment Center will benefit the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt University.
"We have been so blessed since we moved to town," lead vocalist Gary LeVox said in a press release. "The response from Nashville to this show has been so tremendous that we decided we wanted to give something back to the community."
Robert Moog, 71, inventor of the Moog synthesizers that became popular in the '60s, died at his Asheville, NC, home Sunday (8/21), according to his company website. He was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor in April.
Country star Bobby Bare ("Detroit City," "How I Got to Memphis") drops "The Moon is Blue," his first new album in more than 22 years, on Nov. 1.
The set was produced by Bare's son, Bobby Bare, Jr. , with Lambchop 's Mark Nevers.
Simply Red has set an Oct. 18 release date for the new album "Simplified," which a press release describes as "a collection that features both stripped-down versions of the band's classic songs as well as fresh recordings."
