Bassist Joe Loeffler, one of three brothers in the rock trio Chevelle , has departed the group.
"We've spent 10 great years building Chevelle, but irreconcilable differences have led to an unfortunate parting of ways between Joe and the band," Pete and Sam Loeffler said in a statement. "Chevelle will return to the road for a string of summer shows, to be followed by writing sessions for a new album. Thanks to all of our fans, friends and family for their continued love and support. We look forward to seeing all of you on tour."
Added Joe: "This will be positive for me and my brothers. I'm looking forward to all of the new opportunities this will make available to me."
R&B singer Gerald Levert pleaded guilty to two misdemeanors Wednesday (7/27)--assault and obstruction of official business--in connection with a February run-in with Cleveland police.
Levert, who was fined $2,000 and sentenced to a year's probation, apologized to the court for the incident, during which he reportedly became angry and pushed a police officer who refused to explain why another motorist had been pulled over.

A new remix album from Lil Jon and the Eastside Boyz, titled "Crunk Juice: Chopped and Screwed," is set for release on Aug. 9.
