
Neil Young is set to play a five-night stand at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium Aug. 15-19, in what are his first scheduled concerts since he suffered a brain aneurysm in March.
A Sept. 13 release date has been set for "Dreamin' My Dreams," the latest from country artist Patty Loveless .
This year marks the 20th anniversary of Loveless' partnership with her producer-turned-husband Emory Gordy, Jr. The couple first met in 1985, when Gordy co-produced Loveless' first recordings, and they wed in 1989.
Emmylou Harris and Dwight Yoakam contributed vocals to the forthcoming album. In addition to three tracks written by Loveless and Gordy, the disc features songs written by Richard Thompson, Jim Lauderdale, Julie and Buddy Miller, Leslie Satcher, Delbert McClinton, Steve Earle, Delaney Bramlett, Thom Schuyler, Gary Nicholson, Tony Arata, Pete Wasner, Lee Roy Parnell and Allen Reynolds.
MTV and VH1 have announced plans to telecast eight hours of July 2's Live 8 concerts. Both networks will share the same video feed.
The shows are being held in eight cities worldwide to raise awareness of poverty in Africa.
Rockers Trapt will issue their second Warner Bros. album, "Someone in Control," on Sept. 13. The group co-produced the set's 11 tracks with Don Gilmore (Dashboard Confessional, Pearl Jam).
