Vocalist Clay Aiken has filled in the gaps on his summer tour schedule, which launches in late July and now includes stops in 25 North American cities.
Aiken--who gained fame in 2003, when he was the runner-up to Ruben Studdard on the Fox-TV talent show "American Idol"--will spend more than a month on the road, focusing entirely on cities East of the Mississippi River.
In the midst of the tour, Aiken will give a July 29 performance in New York City's Bryant Park as part of the "Good Morning America" concert series.
The outing is Aiken's first since a late-2004 holiday run that backed his most recent release, last November's "Merry Christmas with Love." That set followed his 2003 solo debut, "Measure of a Man," which entered The Billboard 200 album chart at No. 1 and spawned 2003's top-selling single, "This Is the Night," as well as the hit "The Way."
Also last November, Aiken served up a memoir titled "Learning to Sing: Hearing the Music in Your Life," which tells how faith was integral to his rise from an aspiring teacher to stardom on "American Idol."
