LeAnn Rimes books more shows, scraps CMA fest appearances

LeAnn Rimes ' summer tour schedule now includes a number of new dates, but the singer won't be heading to Nashville for this year's CMA Music Festival as planned.

Though Rimes' itinerary has grown to encompass nearly a dozen new shows scattered throughout June, July and August, the singer has pulled the plug on her June 9-11 appearances at the CMA Festival so that she can tend to an unspecified dental procedure.

"I had the best time seeing all of you last year at Fan Fair, so it breaks my heart to have to tell you that I'm going to miss our getting together this year," Rimes wrote in a message posted last week at her website. "I had so many great things planned, but they are going to have to wait 'til next year.

"My periodontist tells me that I can't delay any longer the surgery that I've put off for so long. I hope you understand, and know how much I look forward to seeing on tour this summer. I'll see you next year at Fan Fair, I promise."

Rimes will work in a pair of late-May shows before the procedure, then launches the bulk of her tour in mid-June. Details are shown below.

The production "will feature the most advanced technology used on tour to date," according to a press release, including "complex lighting techniques and digitally enhanced video display images."

Rimes is backing her latest album, "This Woman." Released in January, the set debuted at No. 2 on Billboard's Country Albums chart and No. 2 on The Billboard 200 chart. The set features the hit single "Nothin' Bout Love."
