Nine Inch Nails fans can start marking their calendars; Trent Reznor has unveiled the first leg of shows behind his forthcoming album, "With Teeth."
The stretch begins in late April with a two-night stand in San Francisco, and subsequent stops--most of which are also two-night engagements--run through the end of May. Tickets for the new dates will hit the box office March 4.
Registered members of Nine Inch Nails' email list will have an early crack at tickets via an online pre-sale that begins Tuesday (3/1). Information was sent to members Sunday (2/27).
The new round of shows augments a tour schedule that already included a trio of late-March warm-up shows in the West and a May 1 headlining performance at the annual Coachella music festival in Indio, CA. Details are included below.
Reznor has also lined up a Mexico City date, and a summer European trek, details of which are posted at NIN's official website.
Due in stores May 3, "With Teeth" is NIN's first collection of new studio material since 1999's "The Fragile." Reznor revealed the track listing earlier this month, and identified the first single as a cut titled "The Hand That Feeds"; though the song has not yet been officially released, it has surfaced on the Internet. Also circulating is a description of the song's music video, which a since-fired crew member involved with the shooting apparently leaked, according to a message Reznor posted Saturday (2/26) at NIN's website.
"What can be very aggravating is when you work hard to get something right, put a lot of thought into the presentation and it gets ruined by someone either through maliciousness or over-eagerness," he wrote. "The last way I would want you to hear the first new music from me in a long time is a s----y quality rip from a s----y quality radio station, or a questionable description of a video from a newly unemployed grip.
"... The sad thing from my perspective is you can't un-hear things, and you only get a first impression once. In the end, I've made a great f---ing record and I have a great f---ing band and it's now beyond my control as to how you people choose to experience it."
