
"We Jam Econo--The Story of the Minutemen ," a feature-length documentary chronicling the storied early '80s punk-rock band, is set to premiere Feb. 25 at the Warner Grand Theatre in San Pedro, CA.
Following the screening, surviving band members Mike Watt and George Hurley will be on hand for a question-and-answer session with the audience, along with director Tim Irwin and producer Keith Schieron. Michael Halloran of San Diego radio station FM94.9 will moderate.
The film follows the band from its beginnings in the working-class Southern California port town of San Pedro through the death of frontman/guitarist D. Boon in a December 1985 van accident.
"We Jam Econo" features more than 50 new interviews--including Flea, Greg Ginn, Richard Hell, Ian MacKaye, Thurston Moore and Henry Rollins--along with archival interviews and live performances.
A trailer for the film is posted at its website, where advance tickets are also for sale. Plans for a wider release haven't been announced.
