Briefly: Billy Joel, moe., Sum 41 & Ludacris, Lynyrd Skynyrd

Billy Joel is scheduled to play a March 31 concert at America West Arena in Phoenix.

Tickets will go on sale on Jan. 29, according to promoter Evening Star Productions.

Joel's spokesperson at Columbia Records said it isn't yet clear if the singer/pianist is planning additional dates.

Jam band moe. has booked a Feb. 10 charity concert at New York City's Roseland Ballroom, proceeds from which will benefit survivors of last month's tsunami.

Guests scheduled to appear at the event include guitarist Trey Anastasio (Phish), keyboardist John Medeski (Medeski, Martin & Wood), mandolinist Sam Bush and Vorcza keyboardist Ray Paczkowski.

Tickets, priced at $40 in advance, go on sale via Ticketmaster on Saturday (1/22) at 10 a.m. EST. Dave Matthews Band will match all proceeds from the event, and the total will go to DMB's Bama Works Village Recovery Fund, according to a press release.

Pop-punk outfit Sum 41 will back Ludacris during the rapper's performance on this weekend's episode of "Saturday Night Live." The rock-rap collective plans to perform Ludacris' "Get Back," featured on his latest album, "The Red Light District," according to Island Records.

On Feb. 5--the night before Super Bowl XXXIX--CMT will air "Lynyrd Skynyrd's Super Bowl Saturday Night Special." The hour-long program will feature a headlining performance from the Southern rockers, with guest appearances from Charlie Daniels, 3 Doors Down, Jo Dee Messina and 38 Special's Donnie Van Zant, according to a press release.
