With a new album for a new label now in stores, country icon Merle Haggard is again working the road.
Haggard is scheduled to play a mix of casino and theater shows in January and February, and other scattered dates are set through July. Details are in the itinerary below.
In December, the singer/songwriter dropped his latest album, "Unforgettable," on which he sings his renditions of standards including "Cry Me a River," "Stardust" and "Pennies from Heaven." It also includes a lone original song, "What Love Can Do," which Haggard co-wrote with his wife, Theresa.
"Unforgettable" marks Haggard's return to Capitol Records, his home in the '60s and '70s.
Prior to his latest release, Haggard recorded a series of albums for independent labels, most recently a 2004 Christmas set. Before that, he released "Haggard Like Never Before," a 2003 album featuring the single "That's the News," which criticizes the mainstream media for its coverage of the war in Iraq.
