American Hi-Fi maps ambitious winter tour, readies album

American Hi-Fi has nailed down a March 2005 street date for its next album, and will pass the time before the set is released by tackling a busy tour schedule that includes shows with Butch Walker and Bowling for Soup .

The group kicks things off Saturday (12/4) in Raleigh, NC, and will be on the road for a string of co-headlining dates with Walker through Dec. 20. A holiday break follows before the quartet returns to the road in early 2005 for a stretch of January and February shows with Bowling for Soup. Details appear below.

The roadwork leads up to the March release of "Hearts on Parade," American Hi-Fi's third album, and its first for Maverick Records, with whom the group signed after parting with Island/Def Jam. According to a Maverick Records press release, the "themes on this new album reflect the transitions shaped largely by the band's relocation to Los Angeles and dealing with the search for a new record label."

Walker--who released his latest album, "Letters," in August--produced "Hearts on Parade," and recently recruited American Hi-Fi to serve as his backing band during his opening stint on Avril Lavigne's fall tour. His production credits include Lavigne's latest album, "Under My Skin."

Texas-based Bowling for Soup dropped its new album, "A Hangover You Don't Deserve," in September.
