Better Than Ezra backs new live releases with tour

Better Than Ezra follows the recent release of a new live CD and DVD with a busy fall tour schedule.

The group's just-launched tour extends well into December, and is scheduled to end with a two-night finale at the House of Blues in the band's hometown of New Orleans. The itinerary is shown below.

The New Orleans House of Blues is the same venue where, last August, the group recorded its new live CD and DVD, both of which landed in stores on Sept. 28.

In addition to 15 live cuts, the CD version of "Better Than Ezra: Live at House of Blues New Orleans" contains two new studio tracks, titled "Cold Year" and "Stall." The DVD, meanwhile, features six songs not included on the CD. A complete track list for both releases is posted at Better Than Ezra's website.

Later this year, Warner Bros. will release a Better Than Ezra hits collection that will include one new song, "as well as a few surprises," according to the band's website. A release date has not been announced, though the site indicates that the disc will surface "just in time for Christmas."

Better Than Ezra plans to issue its next new studio album early next year. The as-yet-untitled set will be the follow-up to 2001's "Closer."
