Elton John 's forthcoming album, "Peachtree Road," is due to hit the shelves in U.S. stores on Nov. 9.
The set, which surfaces a day earlier elsewhere in the world, features John's latest single, "Answer In the Sky." A follow-up single titled "All That I'm Allowed," is scheduled for international release on Nov. 1, according to John's website.
Singer Whitney Houston is re-teaming with longtime mentor and producer Clive Davis for her seventh studio album for Davis' Arista Records. It is the first time the two have collaborated in five years.
On Wednesday night (9/15), Houston participated in a tribute to Davis that took place during the World Music Awards in Las Vegas; Davis received the first-ever non-performer award for Outstanding Contribution to the Music, according to a press release.
Singer Gary Cherone , guitarist Nuno Bettencourt and drummer Paul Geary--three of the four founding members of Boston-based rock group Extreme --will reunite for a free show at Boston's City Hall Plaza on Saturday (9/18). More information is posted at the official website for Bettencourt's current group, Population 1.
Extreme rose to fame in the late '80s and early '90s, but parted ways in 1996. Cherone went on to front Van Halen briefly, then re-teamed with former Extreme bassist Pat Badger and one-time Extreme drummer Mike Mangini--as well as guitarist Leo Mellace and keyboardist Steve Ferlazzo--to form Tribe of Judah, a quartet that released an album titled "Exit Elvis" in 2002.
Last year, VH1 tried unsuccessfully to get the original Extreme lineup to play a one-off show for the channel's "Bands Reunited" series; Cherone, Geary and Badger all agreed to participate, but Bettencourt refused.
Badger apparently won't be appearing with the group at the upcoming Boston show; a spokesperson could not be reached at press time for comment.
Earlier this summer, Cherone, Bettencourt and Geary recruited bassist Carl Restivo for a handful of Extreme reunion shows in the Azores, a network of islands in Bettencourt's native country of Portugal.
