Avril Lavigne confirms more fall arena shows

Months after Avril Lavigne 's plans to embark on a fall tour first surfaced along with a handful of confirmed shows, the teen singer's schedule is starting to shape up.

Organizers have now confirmed more than a dozen shows for October and November, starting with an Oct. 26 gig at San Antonio's SBC Center. Tickets for many shows will hit the market in the coming days, according to promoters.

Lavigne is supporting her sophomore album, "Under My Skin," which was released in late May. The set--which sold more than 380,000 copies during its first week in stores, and debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 album chart--features the hit "Don't Tell Me."

"Under My Skin" is the follow up to Lavigne's 2002 debut, "Let Go," which hit No. 1 on The Billboard 200 album chart, and has sold more than 15 million copies worldwide, according to a press release.

"I grew up so much in the past two years," Lavigne said in a statement. "I've been through a lot, I've learned a lot and experienced a lot both good and bad. These songs [on "Under My Skin"] are about all of that, and each is very personal to me."

Lavigne, who co-wrote the new album's 12 tracks, collaborated with producers Butch Walker (of the Marvelous 3), Raine Maida (of Our Lady Peace), Don Gilmore (Linkin Park, Pearl Jam), Ben Moody (formerly of Evanescence) and singer-songwriter Chantal Kreviazuk. Lavigne's recently departed guitarist, Evan Taubenfeld, co-wrote much of the material with her.

On Friday (9/17), Lavigne is scheduled to appear on the syndicated "Oprah Winfrey Show."

The singer will also perform on "Fashion Rocks," a taped special that airs Sept. 26 on Fox-TV. She'll play "Iris" with Goo Goo Dolls' Johnny Reznick on acoustic guitar, and will be joined by Taubenfeld for "Nobody's Home." A full orchestra will accompany on both songs, according to Lavigne's website.
