Deftones , who earlier this week announced plans to mount a fall club tour before heading into the studio, have added a slew of new dates to the outing.
The run is now scheduled to launch in San Francisco on Sept. 26, and a full battery of shows stretches into late October. Tickets for a number of stops go on sale Saturday (8/28); additional on-sale dates were not available at press time. Details are shown below.
After wrapping up the tour, Deftones will begin recording the follow-up to their self-titled release of last year. Studio sessions begin the first week of November, according to a spokesperson.
Bob Ezrin--known for his work with bands such as Pink Floyd, KISS and Nine Inch Nails--will produce the forthcoming set. No release date has been announced.
"Deftones" debuted at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 album chart, and is certified gold, which signifies U.S. shipment of 500,000 copies. "White Pony," the Sacramento-based group's 2000 release, has sold more than a million copies to date.
In related news, a release date is expected soon for the debut set from Deftones frontman Chino Moreno's side-project Team Sleep. A late-fall release is rumored, with a tour to follow.
