Taking Back Sunday takes on the club circuit

New York rockers Taking Back Sunday will hit the stage at clubs in nearly three dozen cities in the coming months as they continue to back their sophomore album, "Where You Want to Be."

The quintet's busy schedule--which opens Sept. 28 in Iowa City, IA, and runs through November--comes in the wake of the just-concluded Vans Warped Tour, which visited about 50 cities.

All of Taking Back Sunday's September and October shows will also feature Fall Out Boy and Matchbook Romance, while Atreyu and Funeral for a Friend take over the opening slots in November.

Indie label Victory Records issued "Where You Want to Be" in late July. It is the follow-up 2002's "Tell All Your Friends."

Two of Taking Back Sunday's founding members--bassist Shaun Cooper and guitarist John Nolan--departed in 2003, and have since been replaced by Fred Mascherino (guitar, vocals) and Matt Rubano (bass).

"Not many bands make it through a line-up change, let alone on the heels of a huge debut and before their second record," Rubano said in the band's record-company biography. "Taking Back Sunday has not only survived but seems very strong."
