Rascal Flatts sets sights on album release, tour

Currently on the road with Kenny Chesney , Rascal Flatts steps back into the top slot this fall for a headlining run that backs its forthcoming album.

The country trio launches the outing on Oct. 2, and stops are planned in 28 cities. Chris Cagle and Julie Roberts will open, though Gary Allan will fill in for Cagle from Oct. 28-Nov. 6.

The headlining jaunt follows Rascal Flatts' opening stint with Chesney, which wraps up later this month. The group is also slated to play a number of fairs through early September. Details are shown below.

On Sept. 28, Rascal Flatts releases "Feels Like Today," the title track from which is riding in the Top 20 on Billboard's Country Singles & Tracks chart. The song's music video is set to debut on CMT and GAC later this month, according to a press release.

"Feels Like Today" is Rascal Flatts' third album, and is the follow-up to 2002's "Melt," which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart.

Earlier this year, Rascal Flatts won the CMA, ACM and ASCAP Vocal Group of the Year awards.
