Chimaira, Machine Head to co-headline Road Rage Tour

Metal outfits Chimaira and Machine Head co-headline this summer's Road Rage Tour, an outing that also features fellow Roadrunner Records artists Three Inches of Blood and Trivium.

After an Aug. 3 kick-off in Chimaira's hometown of Cleveland, the groups will spend most of August performing at clubs and theaters throughout the U.S. Details are shown below.

Chimaira and Machine Head will take turns closing the show each night. More information is posted at Roadrunner's website.

Included in the itinerary is an Aug. 6 stop in Worcester, MA, where the four Road Rage Tour acts will share the stage with Candiria, 36 Crazyfists, 12 Tribes and show headliner Kittie. A local act will open, according to Roadrunner.

Also on tap for Chimaira and Machine Head is an Aug. 8 in-store meet-and-greet at Relapse Records in Philadelphia. Set to take place at 3 p.m., the appearance precedes the groups' concert in the city later that night.

Chimaira is backing its sophomore full-length, last year's "The impossibility of Reason." In a message posted at its website, the group said that the Road Rage Tour will be its last round of shows until after it records a new album.

Machine Head is supporting last year's "Though the Ashes of Empires," its sixth studio set for Roadrunner.

Canada's Three Inches of Blood issued its debut set, "Battlecry Under a Winter Sun," in June of 2003. Trivium is due to unleash its inaugural effort next year.
