Kris Kristofferson plots concerts as reissues surface

The multi-faceted Kris Kristofferson dons his touring hat for a brief spate of late-summer shows.

Kristofferson's schedule comprises four late-August shows and a pair of mid-September dates; the Aug. 26 launch takes place in Canada, while the rest of the dates are set in the eastern and midwestern U.S. Details are shown below.

Kristofferson's outing follows the late-April release of a two-disc set that houses his 1986 album "Reposessed"--which previously wasn't available on CD--and 1990 set "Third World Warrior." The subject matter of both albums focuses largely upon politics and war.

Oh Boy Records' website features a track-by-track commentary from Kristofferson that covers all of the songs on both albums.

Last year, Kristofferson released "Broken Freedom Song: Live from San Francisco," which he recorded at San Francisco State University's Gershwin Theater on July 19, 2002. The 15-track set features four of his lesser-known songs, as well as four previously unreleased numbers.

Kristofferson--a Rhodes Scholar and former Army helicopter pilot--divides his time between his music and a busy acting career. His acting plans for the coming year include reprising his co-starring role in the third installment of the "Blade" film series, starring Wesley Snipes.
