Briefly: Elton John, Little Steven's Garage Festival, Oasis
Elton John reportedly is planning an Asian tour for September that will include his first-ever concert in mainland China.
Among his planned stops are Shanghai, Hong Kong and Taiwan. He's also scheduled to play a show in Seoul, marking his first performance in that city.
Earlier this week, John reportedly unveiled some of the songs he penned for "Billy Elliot: The Musical" during a London preview. The musical is scheduled to open in March 2005.
Iggy Pop & The Stooges, The Strokes , the re-formed New York Dolls, Bo Diddley, The Raveonettes and others are to perform at Little Steven's International Underground Garage Festival.
The event, sponsored by Dunkin' Donuts, takes place on Aug. 14 at New York City's Randall's Island. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketmaster. (Ticketmaster is liveDaily's parent company.)
British pop-rockers Oasis will issue a DVD to commemorate the 10-year anniversary of the group's debut album, "Definitely Maybe," on Sept 6.
The DVD features the audio version of the album--including the vinyl-only track "Sad Song"--and more than four hours of archived and new footage, including a one-hour documentary about the recording of the album.
