British retro-rockers The Darkness , who recently completed their first tour of the U.S., return to the states in June for more roadwork in support of their breakthrough debut, "Permission to Land."
The group launches the run in Virginia on June 2, and dates are set through late June. The stretch of shows--which focuses on the Eastern U.S., and includes a pair of Canadian dates--will feature The Wildhearts in the opening slot.
Tickets for the upcoming run will likely sell fast; the band's late-March-through-mid-April swing through the states was completely sold out.
The Darkness has gained a foothold in America thanks to its hit single, "I Believe in a Thing Called Love," and a companion music video that highlights the group's campy, hair-metal image and arena-rock sound. The cut has helped propel sales of last year's "Permission to Land" past the 500,000 mark, according to the group's website.
Fellow U.K. act The Wildhearts released their latest album, "Riff After Riff," in March.
