Country/gospel star Randy Travis is set to spotlight the country side of his voluminous catalog during a spring/summer outing that focuses on the fair circuit.
The schedule--which so far includes scattered dates through October--concentrates on the Midwest, but shows are also scheduled in California, New York and Canada.
Travis' latest release is last November's "Worship & Faith," an acoustic set of traditional Gospel hymns and contemporary Christian songs. It followed 2002's "Rise and Shine," on which Travis combined his well-known country sound with inspirational lyrics.
"Three Wooden Crosses," a track from "Rise and Shine," is nominated for two ACM Awards this year: Single Record of the Year and Song of the Year. The 39th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards air live from Las Vegas on CBS-TV on May 26.
"Rise and Shine" claimed a Grammy award earlier this year in the Best Southern, Country or Bluegrass Gospel category. The album continues to spawn singles, the latest of which is titled "Raise Him Up."
