Belle & Sebastian make the most of their time in the U.S
Glasgow, Scotland-based Belle & Sebastian will work in a few additional U.S. appearances while they're in the country for a May appearance at Southern California's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
The group is set to open its mini-tour with an April 30 gig in San Francisco, followed by Coachella on May 2. From there, the eight-piece band heads to San Diego, Seattle and Denver.
Belle & Sebastian are supporting their sixth studio album, "Dear Catastrophe Waitress," which they recorded in the U.K. last year with producer Trevor Horn (Seal, Yes, Frankie Goes to Hollywood). The set is the band's first album to feature new bassist Bobby Kildea, who replaced departed founding member Stuart David.
The group rarely performs in the U.S., and its members generally shun promotional duties--including interviews. The band didn't tour at all behind its previous album, 2000's "Fold Your Hands Child, You Walk Like a Peasant." In 2002, Belle & Sebastian recorded the soundtrack to the film "Storytelling."
