'NSync's JC Chasez --after the NFL removed him from the upcoming Pro Bowl halftime show because of suggestive lyrics--has refused the league's invitation to sing the National Anthem at Sunday's (2/8) game.
"That's not the America I love," Chasez said in a statement. "Nor is this the NFL I love. I'll sing the National Anthem anytime, anywhere, but not for this NFL."
Former Britney Spears backup singer Kiley Dean will sing the anthem instead.
Country crooner Tim McGraw will star with Billy Bob Thornton in the upcoming film "Friday Night Lights." McGraw plays the alcoholic father of a teenage high-school football player.
McGraw had a previous role in "Black Cloud," an unreleased independent film.
Retired country singer Garth Brooks has been invited to join the Kansas City Royals in March at the team's Surprise, AZ, spring training camp. Brooks has made three other spring training stints to raise money for charity, but he's only managed a batting average of .027.
Traffic will reunite to perform when the group is inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 15, with Randall Bramlett sitting in for late drummer Chris Wood.
