Jewel extends tour deep into the spring

Singer/songwriter Jewel launches a tour of U.S. theaters next month, and has more than doubled the size of her itinerary.

The run kicks off in Bozeman, MT, on March 11, and dates now run well into May. Members of Jewel's official fan club will have access to members-only tickets and meet-and-greet packages, according to her website.

Jewel's site also features information about a charity auction through which fans can buy front-row seats for some of her shows. Proceeds will "benefit humanitarian causes worldwide," according to auction details.

Before heading off on an Australian tour that precedes her U.S. outing, Jewel is scheduled to give a co-headlining performance with Counting Crows at the House of Blues in West Hollywood, CA. The sold-out event is part of HOB's Blue Jam Sessions, and net proceeds will "help restore music education programs in our nation's public schools," according to HOB.com.

Jewel's latest album, "0304," surfaced last June. The set features the cuts "Intuition" and "2 Become 1."
