Ryan Adams is scheduled to undergo surgery during the week of Feb. 1 to repair a broken left wrist, and has canceled his previously announced March tour dates, according to Lost Highway Records.
Adams broke his wrist during a Jan. 22 show in Liverpool, England. According to Lost Highway, "about 90 minutes into the set, Adams was singing his song 'Shadowlands' to the enthusiastic crowd from the edge of the stage. Adams took a step forward, and fell. The singer finished the song, but had to cancel the remainder of the show."
The remaining dates on the European leg of Adams' tour were called off earlier this month.
The North American tour had been scheduled to get underway on March 2, and was to focus primarily on the western U.S.
Adams' latest full-length set, "Rock N Roll," hit stores in November, as did the EP "Love Is Hell, Part 1"; a second EP, "Love Is Hell, Part 2," followed in December. Collectively, the three releases mark Adams' first batch of new material since his critically acclaimed 2001 album, "Gold."
