Reggae royalty Ziggy Marley and rap/hip-hop outfit Michael Franti & Spearhead join forces for a winter run on the U.S. theater circuit.
Marley--son of the late reggae legend Bob Marley--who for years has recorded and toured with his siblings under the name the Melody Makers, continues to support his first solo effort, "Drangonfly," which surfaced last April.
"Working on my own gave me a chance to take my time and experiment a lot," Marley said in a statement. "It took one year to finish this record--it's the longest I've ever worked on one album. It's different when you're on your own. At some point it's scary, and then at another it's a drive that makes you focus more."
Samples of all 11 tracks on "Dragonfly" are posted at record label Private Music's website, while full-length streams of the album's title track and the single "True to Myself" are available at Marley's official website.
Franti & Spearhead are backing last year's "Everyone Deserves Music." The album's title track is available as a free download from the group's official website.
