Ryan Adams sets up new batch of theater dates

Singer-songwriter Ryan Adams follows his January and February swing through Europe with a string of shows on the U.S. theater circuit.

Adams, who is backing a new, full-length album and two new EPs, opens the run on March 2, and dates run into late March. The itinerary focuses primarily on the western U.S., and also includes a lone Canadian stop in Vancouver.

Adams' latest full-length set, "Rock N Roll," hit stores in November, as did the EP "Love Is Hell, Part 1"; a second EP, "Love Is Hell, Part 2," followed in December. Collectively, the three releases mark Adams' first batch of new material since his critically acclaimed 2001 album, "Gold."

In 2002, Adams issued "Demolition," a collection of 13 previously unreleased demos.

Adams recorded "Rock N Roll" in two weeks, and played most of the instruments himself, with Johnny T. handling drums. Guests on the album include Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong and former Hole member Melissa Auf Der Mauer.

"Rock N Roll" includes the track "So Alive," the music video for which recently premiered on MTV.

Streaming-audio samples of all of the cuts on "Rock N Roll" and the two "Love Is Hell" EPs are posted at Adams' website.
