Kid Rock maps out more dates as tour launch nears

Kid Rock , whose U.S. arena tour kicks off later this month, has extended the run into early March.

The Detroit-based musician gets things started close to home with a two-night stand in Saginaw, MI, that opens on Jan. 22. So far, his itinerary focuses primarily on the South and Midwest.

Tickets for most confirmed shows are on sale now.

Rock's latest album--a self-titled set that surfaced in November--features his cover of Bad Company's "Feel Like Makin' Love." The song's music video is streaming at his website.

Also in November, Rock picked up a win in the Best Male Pop or Rock Artist category at the American Music Awards.

"Kid Rock," the follow-up to 2001's "Cocky," features Rock's longtime band, Twisted Brown Trucker: guitarists Kenny Olson and Jason Krause, keyboardist Jimmie Bones and drummer Stefanie Eulinberg.

Kenny Wayne Shepherd, David McMurray, ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons, Hank Williams Jr. and Sheryl Crow all make guest appearances on the set.
