Dave Matthews Band looks ahead to the New Year
The Dave Matthews Band's plans for 2004 include the recording of a new album, the booking of its usual summer amphitheater tour and--possibly--a major festival.
According to an email newsletter sent to fans this week, the group "will reconvene in early 2004 to begin work on the follow up to 'Busted Stuff,'" the group's most recent studio album. A projected release date hasn't been announced. The band is also scheduling its annual summer tour, the newsletter said.
Meanwhile, the group is asking fans to provide their views about a possible Dave Matthews Band festival by filling out a survey that is posted on its official website. Among the questions the survey asks is whether fans would be interested in attending such a festival, and the time and location they'd most like it to take place.
The Dave Matthews Band is currently taking a break, but Matthews recently launched a winter tour dubbed "An Acoustic and Electric Evening with Dave Matthews and Friends."
Joining Matthews on the outing are Trey Anastasio, Brady Blade, Tony Hall, Ray Paczkowski and Tim Reynolds. The show will also feature special guest Emmylou Harris and Spyboy
In late September, Matthews released "Some Devil," his first solo set. Anastasio, Hall and Blade all appear on the album.
