Rumors have surfaced that rocker Sammy Hagar and his former Van Halen bandmates are in the midst of a reconciliation that could lead to a full-blown reunion. A report published at HitsDailyDouble.com claims that high-powered manager Irving Azoff (The Eagles)--who currently represents Hagar as a solo artist--has signed Van Halen to a management deal.

A separate report at MelodicRock.com cites unnamed sources as saying that Hagar recently met with Eddie Van Halen and Alex Van Halen at the band's recording studio, and that Hagar has told his current solo band that he plans to rejoin Van Halen. The report claims that plans for a new Van Halen studio album with Hagar at the helm and a subsequent tour are "almost definite."

A spokesperson for Azoff Management said that Azoff had no comment on whether his firm now represents the band, and no comment on who is currently in the band.

Former Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic , who has long been politically active, is considering running for lieutenant governor of Washington in 2004, according to the Seattle Times.

"I've been really contemplating how I want to get involved next year and make a contribution," Novoselic reportedly said. "It's going to be a big year and I'm trying to find a way to fit into it."

If he runs, he would challenge incumbent Brad Owen, who is a fellow Democrat.
