Yanni's 'Ethnicity' world tour rolls into 2004, spawns PBS special

New Age icon Yanni , who earlier this year mounted a tour that touched down in more than 60 North American cities, makes a pass through an additional 26 U.S. markets in early 2004.

The jaunt kicks off in New Mexico on March 4, and dates are to run through early April. Performances feature the keyboardist/arranger with his core band and a full symphony orchestra.

The U.S. outing supports Yanni's latest album, "Ethnicity," which surfaced in February. The album--which is his 13th, and his third for Virgin Records--debuted at No. 1 on the New Age charts, where it resided for several weeks.

Yanni's early-2003 swing through North America was ranked by trade publication Pollstar the continent's sixth-highest ticket-seller for the first half of the year.

In December, PBS will debut the new Yanni concert special "Live at Royal Albert Hall, London." That same month, Yanni--who has frequently aided PBS in its fundraising--plans to appear live at several PBS stations during pledge drives.

Over the years, Yanni has raised more than $25 million for public television, according to a press release.
