Michelle Branch cancels most of her upcoming headlining dates

Singer-songwriter Michelle Branch is suffering from throat problems, and has called off several of her previously scheduled late-2003 concert appearances.

"Due to a throat condition, Michelle Branch is under doctor's orders to reduce the number of shows she is playing, in order to rest her voice," said a statement issued by Branch's camp.

Branch has trimmed from her schedule appearances in Vancouver; Portland, OR; Fresno, CA; Anaheim, CA; Los Angeles; Salt Lake City; St. Louis; Phoenix; and New Orleans. (She had previously canceled a Nov. 30 concert in Denver.)

While most of Branch's headlining dates have been axed, she is expected to perform as scheduled at all holiday radio-festival shows. Details are shown in the itinerary below.

She will also make her scheduled performances at Major League Soccer's MLS Cup halftime show (11/23), on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" (12/10) and on "The Today Show" (12/12).

Branch is supporting her sophomore set, "Hotel Paper," which surfaced in June and peaked at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 album chart.
