
Rockers Linkin Park will release a live CD/DVD set titled "Linkin Park Live in Texas," on Nov. 15.
The material on the CD and DVD was recorded during the band's two Texas stops on this year's Summer Sanitarium tour.
Singer Celine Dion and photographer Anne Geddes--best known for her photos of costumed babies--are collaborating on "The Miracle Project," which is billed as "a compelling, powerful, and inspiring collection of songs and images [that] will honor the moving, tender, and unbreakable bond of love that exists between a mother and her baby."
The "body of work" will be distributed through music and booksellers beginning in October of 2004, according to a press release.
System of a Down is holed up in a Los Angeles rehearsal space, writing and rehearsing material for a new album, according to the group's publicist. The band, which hadn't written songs together for more than two years, is expected to release a new album by the end of 2004.
Napster, the former file-swapping network that was shut down two years ago in the wake of a flurry of lawsuits, will re-launch as a pay service on Oct. 29. The new Napster will charge customers 99 cents to download a single song and $9.95 to download a full album.
Roxio purchased the Napster name in a bankruptcy proceeding for about $5 million.
An Oct. 30 Rock the Vote benefit concert at New Orleans' Louis Armstrong Park will feature performances by N.E.R.D. , Clipse and Spymob. All proceeds will benefit the non-profit organization, which aims to get young people involved in the political process.
