Briefly: Bruce Springsteen, OutKast, CMA Awards, Peter Gabriel, Rush

Bruce Springsteen 's New York Police Department escort reportedly was pulled last week after he performed the song "American Skin (41 Shots)," which is about the 1999 NYPD shooting of unarmed African immigrant Amadou Diallo.

According to the New York Daily News, a police chief became angry and canceled Friday's (10/3) planned escort because Springsteen played the song on Wednesday (10/1), the opening date of Springsteen's tour-ending run at Shea Stadium.

Springsteen didn't play the song again, and his security detail reportedly returned for the tour's final show on Saturday.

Sting's "Sacred Love" enters the chart at No. 3, followed by Dido's "Life for Rent."
