R.E.M. [ tickets ] has unveiled the track listing for "In Time: The Best of R.E.M. 1988-2003," due in stores on Oct. 28, and also announced plans for a special edition of the album.
The 18-track best-of CD features two new songs--"Bad Day," a sample of which is streaming on the band's official website, and "Animal."
The special edition of the album features 15 tracks, including live recordings, alternate versions of previously released songs, and demos. It also features a DVD with 16 videos and live footage.
The track list for the DVD hasn't been finalized, but it will include some material from the group's 2001 South American Freedom Day show in London.
R.E.M., which is expected to release an album of new material next year, is currently in the midst of a North American tour.
