Britney Spears to drop new album in mid-November

Pop queen Britney Spears will release her fourth album, titled "Get in the Zone," on Nov. 18, Jive Records announced on Tuesday (9/16).

The album's first single, "Me Against the Music," features Madonna and will be sent to radio on Sept. 30. The accompanying video debuts on MTV's "Making the Video" on Oct. 13.

According to her label, Spears co-wrote 7 of the 13 songs on "Get in the Zone," which includes co-writing and/or production credits from Moby ("Early Mornin'"), Bloodshy & Avant ("Showdown"), Guy Sigsworth ("Everytime"), Redzone ("Me Against the Music") and R. Kelly ("Outrageous").

Last week, Jive and Spears' website announced that the album would be released on Nov. 25, but later retracted the statement.

Spears on Sunday (9/14) surprised the crowd at the nightclub Rain--located in the Palms hotel-casino in Las Vegas--by playing a 30-minute set. According to published reports, Spears played three songs from the forthcoming album for a crowd of about 1,800.

Her previous album, "Britney," was released in November of 2001.
