Sevendust precedes new album with round of concerts

Nu-metal quintet Sevendust isn't waiting for its recently finished album to hit stores before jumping back on the tour trail.

The group has lined up a two-week run through the eastern U.S. that kicks off in mid-August. Element Eighty and Presence will open.

The band plans to follow the August jaunt with an acoustic tour, for which a handful of September dates are set.

Concertgoers can expect to hear material from Sevendust's upcoming fourth album, which it finished recording in late June. As of early July, the group planned to include on the album 12 or 13 songs out of the 17 tracks that it has recorded in the past couple of months, according to drummer Morgan Rose's website.

Tentatively titled "Seasons," the follow-up to 2001's "Animosity" may end up with a different moniker by the time it surfaces in October, the site said. The first single is due out in August.

A new Sevendust track titled "Leech" turns up on the upcoming "Freddy vs. Jason" soundtrack, which Roadrunner Records plans to release on Aug. 12. The cut is streaming at the album's website.

Texas-based Element Eighty plans to release its major-label debut on Sept. 23. Florida quartet Presence issued its Curb Records debut in May.
